Breathe In, Breathe Out … Breathing Exercises to Keep You Relaxed

Why are breathing exercises so helpful?
Deep breathing exercises stimulate the parasympathetic nervous system, the part of the nervous system that is responsible for the activities in the body that occur while at rest.  While the parasympathetic nervous system is active, the body is relaxed and able to fight off stress.  Breathing exercises can also be used to invigorate the body and prepare the mind to focus.
