According to the 2008 Physical Activity Guidelines for Americans, college students need both aerobic and muscle-strengthening exercise each week to maintain mental, physical, and emotional health. Little time to exercise? Shoot for the minimum fitness recommendation for young adults: 2.5 hours of moderate-intensity aerobic activity each week (or 30 minutes a day) and 1 muscle-strengthening exercise twice per week.
