By Daniela A., Resident Assistant of the Wellness House
What is the Wellness House?
It’s a specialty community housing option for students committed to living in a substance free environment.
1. Sense of Community.
I love living among other students that have similar lifestyle choices as me. All of the residents are committed to living in a positive and wellness-oriented environment. Boston University can seem like a big place, but having a strong support system where you live can be an essential part of sticking to a healthy routine!
2. Wellness as a Lifestyle.
Living in the Wellness House helps healthy living become part of your general lifestyle. Many residents make goals throughout the semester on different ways they can maintain a healthy routine (such as a gym schedule, having “ME” time throughout the week, a routine sleep schedule, better time management, etc.) “Wellness” is a broad topic, so residents will make goals based on their personal needs and desires.
3. “No puke in the toilets.”- Hunter, resident of the Wellness House
The Wellness House is a clean dorm style housing option for those who are interested in other activities and social aspects of college life.
4. Great Common Room.
The Wellness House has a fabulous common room set up with couches, chairs, and tables. This is a great space to quietly buckle down and do homework, or hang out and unwind. The common room also has a TV, Wii, and Nintendo 64, so it’s also used as a recreational lounge.
5. Quiet, Clean, and Safe Living.
College life can get crazy busy with so many academic, social, and extracurricular commitments. Your residence should be a place conducive to being able to sleep and do homework. The Wellness House prides itself on being a respectful environment for students to relax and feel at home.
SPREAD THE HEALTH: Next year, grab a spot in the Wellness House to take advantage of its focus on healthy lifestyles, clean bathrooms, versatile common room, and its sleep and study-conducive environment.
